Steve Quan was a coach and avid softball player born and raised in Cordova Bay. In 1977, he coached a Squirt Girls Team. The following year, Boxer Burns, a close friend of the family started the tournament in Steve’s memory to promote good sportsmanship.

Once again, it was great to have Stan Cunningham and the Cunnigham family at Lochside Park for the thrilling final day to greet the teams and present the winners with their well-earned gold, silver and bronze medals.

A huge thank you from Cordova Bay Fastball to all 12 teams who made this Gladys a joyous weekend in the park. Also to the many volunteers who manned the rakes and the concession and made our guests feel at home in our park.

Finally, to Russ Thompson who stepped into the breach at the last, for taking on the Tournament Director duties and executing them like a professional. You have the thanks of everyone who was part of this year's Gladys Cunningham Tournament.
